At Frida’s Field, we offer bar tab weddings for couples who prefer an on-consumption based drinks option rather than a bottomless drinks package while still maintaining a seamless, high-quality service experience for their guests.
To avoid long bar queues which can cause delays to your event schedule, bar tabs at Frida’s Field operate similarly to our drinks package service — with tray service during cocktail hour and your choice of either table or bar service during your reception, followed by bar service after seated dining has concluded.
How our Bar Tabs Work
You let us know your bar tab budget and we purchase a set number of bottles to meet this budget.
There is a minimum spend of $2,750 for the bar tab plus a $600 fee for the extra bar person who is required to manage the tab by recording each bottle as it is opened.
The bar tab minimum spend amount must be pre-paid prior to the wedding taking place with your final catering invoice. Any additional spend must be settled at the end of the night by the person nominated by you and recorded on your written wedding plan.
The bar tab is limited to your choice of 3 wines (sparkling, white, rose, or red), two beers, and non-alcoholics (chosen from the Signature Selection Beverage Package range). If you prefer to select wines from our Prestige Selection Beverage Package range, the minimum bar spend increases by $1,000.
Cocktails and spirits are not included in bar tabs and can only be pre-ordered by the drink and pre-paid with your final catering invoice.
You are charged by the bottle as it is opened. Bottle prices for Signature Selection wines are currently $67 each (June 2026).
We must be advised in advance on your written wedding plan how you wish us to manage drinks service once the bar tab limit is reached. The options are:
keep providing drinks to your guests and tallying up the bottles as they are opened, with the extra bill due at the end of the night.
closing the tab and stopping service.
switching to guests-paying for their own drinks. If guests pay as they go, they will be charged by the glass at restaurant prices.
Because beverage stocks are purchased in line with the set bar tab amount, the same wines cannot be guaranteed to be available beyond the set tab spend being reached - so if you wish to keep running a new tab beyond the pre-set amount and we have run out of your selected wedding wines then we may need to switch to our restaurant wines and you will be charged at our restaurant wine list's prices.
Couples must nominate the person who will pay any additional bar spend bill at the end of the night and have this person listed on their written event plan so the venue manager can find them.
We provide tray service after the ceremony until the reception or dinner. Once guests are seated for the reception, couples need to stipulate on their written wedding plan whether they would like their guests to receive table service or wither they are happy for guests to line up at a bar for bar service. Table service ensures there are no lines with people waiting for drinks. Irrespective of table or bar service, your meal will be served in line with your written run sheet. Bar service begins post-dinner/seated service.
