about the cottage

The Cottage at Frida's Field is one of those special extras that our couples absolutely love. A beautifully renovated 1890s coach house that has been featured on the cover of Country Style Magazine - its steep pitched roof has a gorgeous country church feel, perfect for wedding photos.

The Cottage is available as an optional add-on to your wedding package - $770 (incl. GST) covering the night before and the night of your wedding. It is a single open plan space which sleeps 2 guests. There is a queen-sized bed; and if you would like a friend or family member to stay with you the night before your wedding, there is a pull-out couch with extra linen available on request.

The cottage is a 1 minute drive from the main wedding venue and transport to and from the venue needs to be organised in advance (see maps below).

Using the Cottage:

  • Check-in to the cottage is 3pm the day before your wedding and check out is 10am the day after your wedding (unless prior approval has been attained from Frida’s Field management).

  • There is a minimum 2 night stay at The Cottage. Even if you would just like to use the space as a place to get ready on the day of your wedding, the same charge applies.

  • You are welcome to

    • use The Cottage as a space to get ready on the day of your wedding. Hair, makeup, photographers, and immediate bridal party members are welcome at the cottage on the day of your wedding.

    • have a toast with immediate family and the bridal party at The Cottage before the ceremony.

    • have a “first viewing” at The Cottage.

    • take photos in and around The Cottage if you have included it in your wedding package.

  • The Cottage cannot be used as a childcare space or for parties / large gatherings.

  • Pets are not allowed at The Cottage as well have various farm animals on-site that do not mix well with visiting animals.

  • After 9pm, only the two overnight guests may use The Cottage.

Facilities:

  • Full kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge/freezer plus cooking ware, tableware, and glassware.

  • Kettle, teapot, coffee plunger, tea & coffee.

  • Bathroom with waterfall shower and full length mirror.

  • Ironing board, iron, hairdryer.

  • Small TV.

  • Ceiling fans, standing fan, heater and fireplace with wood in autumn and winter.

  • Queen sized bed. Fold-out sofa bed.

  • Internet access is via hot-spotting from your phone.

If you haven't booked the Cottage, there is no other getting-ready space available on-site — so book early if you think you would like to use it.

arriving at the cottage

To get to the cottage you drive to Bangalow and then head towards Lismore on the main Lismore-Bangalow Road. You pass through Binna Burra and about 5km onwards there is a sign on the left to Booyong Road, you take this turn. The cottage is at number 76 Booyong Road - please note that there are three entries to the property and the one for the cottage is the third driveway on the right - there is a blue letterbox on the fence and you can see the cottage from the turnoff.

To get to the venue from The Cottage, you drive down the driveway to Booyong Road and head back towards the main Lismore-Bangalow Road and then drive into the restaurant driveway to the main carpark. It is a 1 minutes drive.
